Description
The Club on the most westerly point of North Wales continues to go from strength to strength. Having established itself in the top 20 courses in Wales through a leading golf magazine, it has been steadily climbing the ranking ladder and now sits at number 16. But it does not sit on its laurels, a major new drainage project is underway to ensure the course can offer at least 12 holes of golf in even the wettest conditions, major work has been done on the greens to ensure a true, fast links golf experience and the course infrastructure has been upgraded with new pathways and signage. The social side of the Club is also being developed in line with the expected post-covid regulations, with plans for additional covered and heated seating areas outside and reconfiguration of the bar/restaurant layout.
There are some things that do not change of course, the stunning view from the elevated long par 3 3rd, the nervous look onto the beach from the par 5 5th hole and the newly introduced longer 18th hole with the water now coming into play even more. The Club has started to introduce a nearest-the-pin competition for visiting groups and societies - how about the ocean par 3 at Pebble Beach, the infamous 17th at Celtic Manor or the uphill 14th at Wentworth. All with a welcome drink in one hand and plenty of friendly "encouragement" to fellow players. The Club's state of the art Simulator Room is proving more popular than ever.
