If you find yourself in the west side of the Costa del Sol, a game at Doña Julia Golf is a must. Located between Marbella and Sotogrande and designed by the internationally renowned designer Antonio Garcia Garrido, Doña Julia is a picturesque 18 hole, par-71 course set within a recently built development close to Casares.
The first seven holes ascend into the hills with unrivalled views of the sea (particularly from the highest part of the course on the 8th tee) whilst the last eleven bring you back down the hill, allowing more stunning views but this time from a different angle.
One of the most notable characteristics of Doña Julia is the overall quality of the course. Everything from its restaurant foyer to its fairways is extremely well maintained. The greens are ample (average of 700m2 and some meisuring more than 1000m2) and provide great value-for-money games. And although challenging in places, will suit all levels of golfer.
“Situated in Doña Julia Golf Resort, a spectacular resort located in Casares, between Marbella and Sotogrande, just 45 minutes from Malaga airport and few miles from Gibraltar, Golf Doña Julia Golf Club, is perfectly integrated into the natural landscape area and is noted for its magnificent views over the Mediterranean Sea and the African Coast. The course is 18 holes par 71 (provisional) with a length of 5,976 meters and built to the standards of the United States Golf Association (USGA) in terms of tees, bunkers, drainage and greens. It was designed by renowned Malaga architect Antonio Garcia Garrido, responsible for some of the most emblematic areas of Spain”
