Description
Welcome to The New Mills Golf Club, an 18 hole course located high above the town of New Mills and situated in one of the most stunning locations in the whole of Derbyshire, with panoramic views of the Kinder Plateau, the Cheshire Plain, Greater Manchester and Lancashire. From the moment you enter and are greeted by our friendly staff, you will know that you are somewhere very special.
New Mills Golf Club offers a rewarding yet challenging 18 hole, par 69 course whether you're a beginner or established player.
The New Mills Golf Club was founded in 1907. In 2007, as part of centenary celebrations and with other clubs founded the same year, we formed The Society of 1907 Golf Clubs. Members of Society clubs can play each other’s courses without payment of green fees.
New Mills has a thriving and growing Junior Section with excellent tuition from our Pro, Dave Cullen and Juniors with handicaps are encouraged to take part in club competitions.
At New Mills there are lots of opportunities for Ladies to play golf. The Ladies section organise a variety of golf and social events throughout the year – from fun competitions to board competitions, friendly matches, away days and weekends away.
The Seniors’ section is open to ’youngsters’ over the age of 55 whatever their playing ability. Friendly matches, home and away are played in the summer against 13 other clubs including games against 3 other clubs in the Manchester and District League. Roll ups take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, unless there are matches on those days and are fiercely competitive but full of lots of good humour and banter.
We offer a friendly welcome to new members and visitors and offer membership packages to suit all. Please call in and have a cup of tea and a chat with our professional, Dave Cullen.
The Clubhouse, often referred to as the 19th hole, provides a very warm welcome to golfers and visitors alike. Our Clubhouse manager and caterers, John and Liz Longworth, moved from the ‘Devonshire Arms’ in Mellor several years ago, bringing their signature warm welcome and high quality food to the larger capacity at the Golf Club.
No need to be a member to use the clubhouse. The clubhouse is bookable by all members for christenings, parties, weddings, and anniversaries free of charge. A room hire fee of £60 is chargeable for non-members in addition to food arranged for event.
