Golfing paradise – well I suppose that depends on your definition but spend a day at Caernarfon Golf Club and you will have a fantastic time.
The location is second to none set between the mountains of Snowdonia the Menai Strait and the Isle of Anglesey. Caernarfon Golf Club is set a mile outside the historic town of Caernarfon and a warm welcome is assured with golf professional Aled Owen providing all the essentials. There is also a six bay driving range for those who wish to warm up before playing. The course itself is a real cracker – perhaps not as well-known as neighbours Conwy, Nefyn and Harlech but a real challenge to all handicaps. It is a “parkland by the sea” layout with lush fairways and small true greens. Given the location on the Menai Strait there is usually a nice breeze which places a premium on shot making if you are going to give yourself a chance to score well. The 18 holes include a set of challenging par 3s which are second to none in the region and a nice mix of dog leg par fours which place a premium on accuracy and a couple of par fives which provide an opportunity for birdies.
Caernarfon itself is at the gateway to the Llyn peninsula and is ideally placed for travel via the main routes into North West Wales along the A55 or A5. It is a great location to base a golf trip in the region with an excellent range of accommodation and dining options for ‘après’ golf enjoyment.
So if you are planning a trip to North West Wales put Caernarfon Golf Club on your list, a warm welcome, great golf with fabulous onsite catering and real value for money are guaranteed. Contact Aled Owen for details of packages and to book on 01286 678359.
