Renowned as one of the finest layouts in the North of England, we maintain an enviable reputation as a magnificent championship-standard golf course, both visually stunning and challenging throughout the year. With off-course facilities to match we work hard to ensure you enjoy your Stockport Golf Club experience.

Founded in 1905 and designed by the former Open Champion Sandy Herd with the legendary Harry Colt adding later modifications resulting in our beautiful course which comprises 18 contrasting holes played through picturesque tree lined parkland. It is a testament to its quality that we have hosted The Open Regional Qualifier as well as many other prestigious events in recent years, including the World Amateur Golf Ranking event the Stockport Salver (part of the Cheshire Cat Tournament).

Off the course you can be assured of the same outstanding quality with our well-deserved reputation for exceptional catering and hospitality, and the Club offers a very memorable and warm welcome to all. Whatever the nature of your visit, we continually strive to exceed your expectations.

We are a “Member Centric Club” with our Members at the heart of all we do; we also pride ourselves in expertly delivering a select number of fantastic Corporate Golf Days, Charity Golf Days, Society Golf Days and visitors throughout the year, each and every one of them treated like a “Member for the day”.

Stockport Golf Club is without doubt one of the premier clubs in the North West of England and is delighted to be a host venue for the 2022 Golf Guide Tour.

    Lovely, lovely course.
A notch down from the ‘Royals’, but holds a comfortable spot amongst the best of the rest and less than half the price.
Great strategic options all around…tempts you into believing birdies are easy with it’s average length, but deals you double bogeys if you’re not on your game. Respect it and make the right decisions on an off day though, and you can still have a very respectable score.

The greens are big with subtle borrows and excellent run offs all of which test your short game….the fairways are often carpet like with tight approaches….and the bunkers are well positioned all around.

As you wander around the tree lined course and catch glimpses of the hills around you will feel you’re in a special place and you are.

Inside the clubhouse you get an excellent and friendly service with fantastic food….I recommend the fish & chips!

Always in good condition. Always friendly & welcoming. Always a fantastic day. Highly recommend.
