Description

Surrey National’s course is set within 200 acres of dramatic countryside, offering wonderful views of the Farthing Downs. Approaching 7,000 yards from the championship tees, this picturesque par 72 course is a true test of golfing ability, with holes which run along valleys and ridges, with teasingly placed lakes, raised tees, carefully positioned bunkers and tree lined fairways.

Formerly known as Happy Valley Golf Course, it was designed by leading golf course architect, David Williams, to host major championships and was therefore constructed to the highest standard with USGA specification greens, drainage systems and computer controlled irrigation throughout.

Making use of its natural assets, the course has been cleverly designed to ensure that the vast majority of holes are played on a level or downhill, with only one real uphill shot at the 2nd, where a short pitch to the raised green is required.

As you would expect from a championship length status, Surrey National has its fair share of difficult par 4s - the most difficult being the 16th and bunker-less 6th. However, the most challenging hole is the 3rd which requires a carry of over 150 yards across water from the championship tees.

A popular choice for golfers seeking affordable membership with exceptional facilities, Surrey National also welcomes visiting green fees and societies 12 months of the year, with packages which can be adapted to suit your requirements.

The course is further enhanced by extensive practice facilities including:

22 bay driving range with multiple targets & greens
A large multi-level short-game practice green with 3 bunkers
2 putting greens built to USGA specification with drainage for year-round practice
An indoor teaching facility encompassing multiple camera coaching systems, Explanar training system, putting simulators, Vector X launch monitors, artificial putting service and practice nets

Off the course, visitors are invited to enjoy the comforts of the clubhouse. Perched high above the 18th green and offering panoramic views across the course, this contemporary, purpose-built venue offers first class facilities for dining and hospitality, including a Spike Bar where food can be purchased throughout the day and a first floor function facility available for exclusive hire and suitable for larger golf events and celebrations.

A member of The Altonwood Group, Surrey National is able to offer access to other courses via both its membership schemes and the Altonwood Loyalty Card, which guarantees regular golfers the best green fee rates at all times, across all 5 of its courses.
