Description

Opened in March 1996 as Dukes Dene, Woldingham Golf Club has established itself as a firm favourite with golfers both locally and from further afield.

Situated in the beautiful Halliloo Valley in Woldingham, this course was designed by renowned American course architect Bradford Benz. Measuring 6393 yards from the yellow tees, this 18-hole par 71 course is built on a chalk-base providing excellent drainage which, enhanced by the USGA specification greens, results in a great combination allowing year round play.

Making the most of the natural contours of the valley in which it lies, surrounded by mature woodland, Woldingham is a picturesque course with a fine layout which, on first impression, will give an air of serenity you may be denied in play!

A gentle start with an inviting elevated tee shot from the first, leads into a super par 3 at the second – the first of a number of tricky par 3s on the course, with an elevated tee shot to a green surrounded by strategically placed bunkers.

Players will decide for themselves their favourite holes but perhaps for the sheer beauty of it, the 4th and 7th at the far end of the course in the bowl of the valley will take some beating, as will which the stunning view high up on the 17th tee will entice you to linger longer than perhaps you should.

The unusual double 9th and 18th greens that play out in front of the clubhouse make for some interesting gallery viewing and golfers should look out for the 10th which, having been completely re-designed, is now one of the strongest par 4 holes on the course.

Deceptively undulating fairways and few forgiving holes, ensures an interesting and challenging game you will be sure to remember!

Surrounded by its course, Woldingham’s clubhouse offers a place to relax and unwind while you watch games play out from the lounge or patio of the 19th hole!

Woldingham Golf Club is great for golfers of varying abilities and welcomes visitors and societies throughout the year.
