Dundonald Links has further bolstered its impressive schedule of golf events after being selected as one of four venues in Great Britain and Ireland that will host Final Qualifying for The Open from 2023 to 2026.

The golf resort venue on Scotland’s west coast will play host to a field of more than 70 golfers next July as elite players, including those who have been successful in Regional Qualifying events, fight it out for a chance to tee it up at The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Following huge investment from owners Darwin Escapes, which included improvements to the golf course and the creation of a state-of-the-art clubhouse and luxury lodges, the new-look Dundonald Links Resort was unveiled in November last year.

The resort is set to host several prestigious professional and amateur tournaments in the next 18 months too, with the Stephen Gallacher Foundation 54-hole tournament for boys and girls in May, as well as a visit from the Tartan Pro Tour later that month, the developmental golf tour owned by 1999 Open champion, Paul Lawrie.

These events bolster the already packed event schedule, with the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open visiting in July and The Trilby Tour Grand Final already confirmed to take place in September.

In further positive news, Dundonald Links is proving to be a draw with leisure golfers too, attracted by the opportunity to stay in the resort’s flexible range of luxury lodges and hotel suites, dine at the signature Canny Crow restaurant, play the on-site Kyle-Phillips-designed links and to sample other west coast golfing highlights.

The upcoming summer is huge for golf in Scotland and, to celebrate, Dundonald Links has launched a new range of packages for stays throughout the year, starting from £295pp.

Ian Ferguson, general manager at Dundonald Links said: “We are delighted to have been announced as a host for final Open qualifying in 2023, as it represents another exciting opportunity to showcase our stunning course and facilities.

“Everyone knows the prestige of The Open, and we are excited to be a part of the history of this fantastic golfing event, we can’t wait to see what the players make of the resort!”
