Results from Carus Green / Windermere
I hope you all enjoyed the last 2 days at Carus Green GC & Windermere GC and all the hospitality this beautiful part of the world has to offer. It has been an eventful 2 days with some great golf and great scoring.
What a start at Carus Green – we avoided the rain and for most of us the 1st green !!!! Only 12 players from a field of 86 golfers managed to hit the green on this 110 yd Par 3, incredible really but some great golf followed with some good scores with our first day leader Russ & Neil posting a score of 45 pts for everyone to chase.
After a fun night and some stories to tell, our second day was always going to be fun although Windermere proved for the second year with its 6 Par 3’s and several short Par 4’s a course where players could score. Our highest of the day being 47 from Danny & Adam playing off 11 & 4. Unfortunately a low score on day one took them out of contention. A late charge by Nick Davis & Jacque Wild scoring 46 pts proved to be not enough as our first day leaders posted a 44 to give them an overall score of 89 to win by one.
A little mention to Ash Brown for winning the shortest drive on the 1st , no doubt due to a heavy night !
