Seventy2 Golf expands its golf tourism team with the dual appointments of Danny Seal and David Ford.
Joining Seventy2 Golf, Seal and Ford will continue creating international sales opportunities and travel industry partnerships for Seventy2 Golf’s current roster of clients, whilst also using their expert knowledge to create new international golf tourism events. These appointments underline Seventy2 Golf’s ambitions to expand into new sectors whilst also continuing to provide the leading sales representation service in the international golf tourism sector
Graduating university with 1st class honours in Sports Management, Danny has since played a pivotal role in staging international golf trade events on 5 separate continents. He joined IAGTO in 2015 as a Golf Tourism Consultant and quickly became responsible for the procurement and strategic planning of several high-profile international events.
He would later become Head of Events and Membership at IAGTO, managing accounts for their members and overseeing the event planning for up to 25 events per year.
Seal commented: “I’m extremely excited to start this new chapter at Seventy2 Golf, bringing new initiatives and events to the company whilst working with two like-minded individuals as Giles and David. Our combined skill-sets and experience enables us to provide the industry with unrivalled opportunities and a modern approach to golf tourism representation, consultancy and events”.
David has over 10 years experience within tourism. After playing golf at university in America he started out in the Ski/Surf sector selling and managing the operation of trips around the world before eventually returning to golf where he joined one of Europe’s largest Operators Golfbreaks.com. Then moving to IAGTO as Head of Sales then Head of Golf Tourism Development. As part of these roles, he helped manage various international golf tourism projects for a variety of destinations looking to grow their visitor numbers and profile. He also helped run golf tourism events in North America, Asia and Europe.
Ford commented: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this growing company and to help expand our services into new areas, which in turn will provide greater benefits to our clients. The last two years has been incredibly difficult for the industry however it looks as though there is a light at the end of the tunnel so I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the team and Seventy2 Golf clients”.
Giles Greenwood, Seventy2 Golf CEO explained: “Having spent 20 years working at the heart of the global tourism industry, I understand the intricacies and challenges first hand. It’s a very specialist market so we feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to bring Danny and David, both golf tourism specialists on board as Directors. 2020 and up until late Summer 2021 was the darkest time for the golf tourism industry, but from this major bump in the road there is now unprecedented demand from golfers looking to travel and also from international stakeholders looking to maximise this post covid golf boom. It’s now more important than ever to be positioned correctly to capitalise on this opportunity”
